Business Card Kung Fu

As a marketing speaker and marketing coach, I often get asked about business cards - what should go on a business card? Do I use the back? Should it have my picture on it? What do I say? What are some good ideas for using my marketing "real estate" on the card?

Finally, we have some answers in Business Card Kung Fu - in the form of a funny, fast-paced 7-minute whirlwind tour of good business card marketing ideas.

David is right on. You've got to use both sides of your biz card. Additional insight: Never make your card vertical. Funky to scan, funkier to store in biz card file. Avoid fold-over cards. Good for giving more info, not good in the biz card file, because nobody will take them out of the file to read them. (If you must use a fold-over card, make sure your contact info is on the front.) And finally, a good idea to make some kind of offer on your card. A call to action. The card should be a complete ad, and no ad is complete without a CTA.

David...GREAT STUFF! I'm designing new cards and this is extremely valuable.

Now, I do have to challenge you to a cage match to defend the honor of the martial arts you so sarcastically exploited...

...but I do sincerely thank you for the great advice!

Best thoughts,

Jim
